Rice Kheer
Preparation time 30-40 mins
Ingredient (4 serving)
- ½ cup rice
- 1 ½liters of milk
- 2-3 cardamom powder
- 8-10 chopped almonds
- 8-10 chopped cashews
- 1 cup sugar
- A few saffron threads soaked in warm milk
Method
- Wash the rice and let soak for 1 hour.
- Put the rice, milk and cardamom in a pan, bring to boil and simmer gently until
- The rice is soft and the grains are starting to break up, cook utill milk become half of its quantity
- Add almonds, cashews, saffron and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
- Add the sugar and stir continuously until sugar completely dissolved.
- Remove the rice kheer from heat and serve either warm or chilled.
