Chana Dal 

Ingredients
1 cup - Gram dal (chana Dal)
1 tbls Ghee
2 pinch
 Asafoetida
½ tsp
 Cumin
2-3 cloves
1 large cardamom
½
tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp Coriander powder
1/2 tsp Red chili powder
1/2 Garam Masala
Coriander - a table spoon (finely chopped)

Method
Wash and soak the dal in water for 2 hours.

Drain the water from the dal, and put in the pressure cooker with turmeric, coriander powder, cloves and cardamom, and 3cup of water and cook. After the one whistle, cook on a low flame for 10 minutes. Turn off the burner.
Heat ghee in a pan add asafetida and cumin seeds in ghee. After roasting cumin, add red chilli powder and spices  

Add boiled dal and cook till dal start boiling. Add the garam masala and half of coriander leaves Turn off the burner.
Your gram dal is ready.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with roti rice
