Raw Banana Kofte - Kacche Kele Ke Kofte
Ingredients (for 4-5 serrvings)
for kofta
5 raw bananna
2 tbsp gram flour
2-3 green chilli (finely chopped)
1 tsp ginger (grated)
1 tbsp coriander leaves (finely chopped)
oil for frying
for gravy
2-3 medium size tomato
2 medium size onion
4-5 clove garlic
2 green chilli
small piece of ginger
10-15 cashew (soaked in water)
2 tbsp fresh cream
2 tbsp oil
a pinch asafoetida
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp gram masala
salt as per taste
chopped coriander for garnishing
Method (How to make raw banana kofta)
For kofta
Boil banana in pressure cooker. Peel out the skin and mash them.
Add grated ginger, green chilli, salt and gram flour mix well with your hand and make 18-20 small balls.
Heat oil in deep frying pan and deep fry kofta till brown and crispy.
For gravy
Grind onion, garlic, green chilli and ginger to make paste.
Grind tomato to make paste.
Grind the cashew nuts to make paste.
Heat oil in a wok add asafortida, cumin seeds and fry for few seconds. Add onion paste and fry till light brown, add tomato paste and all dry powder masala, cook till the masala turns into the granules, add the paste of cashew nuts, cream cook till the oil separate from the masala. Add 1 cup water and salt and boil, add fried kofta and cook for 2-3 minuts and remove from the heat garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with chapatti and rice.
