Snacks for the Fasting

(Vrat ki Namkeen)

 

Ingredients

 

  • 1 cup Big Sago
  • 1 cup Peanuts
  • 20-25Almond
  • 20-25Cashew
  • 50gm Makhana
  • 2 -Potatoes larger size
  • Refined oil or ghee – to fry
  • Dry coconut halves - cut into thin slices
  • ½ tsp - Rock salt
  • 1/4 tsp - Black pepper
  • ½ tsp - Amchur powder

 

Recipe - How to make Sabudana Namakeen for Vrat

 

  • Take the big sago pearls in a large plate, sprinkle 2 tablespoons water and mix well. Keep aside Sago for 10-15 minutes so that they become little soft.
  • Peel the potatoes and grate it , wash grated potatoes two three time with clean water.
  • Clean the peanut beads.
  • Now take the oil in wok and heat the oil and fry the potato Flakes till golden.
  • Now fry the sago also on sim gas flame try to put a plate in the wok otherwise the sago will come out from the wok.
  • After that , fry the peanut in the oil till golden brown.
  • Fry the almonds, cashew and coconut flakes similarly till golden brown.
  • At last shallow fry the makhana till crispy.
  • Now mix well all the fried material in a big bowl and add salt, pepper powder and dry mango powder.
  • After cooling down keep it in an air tight container.
  • The Navratri Namkin is ready enjoy with tea.
