South Indian Style Curd Rice


  • Rice 1 cup
  • Water 2 cup
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Beaten curd 1cup
  • Mustard seeds 1/4tsp
  • Channa and urad dal 1/2tsp
  • Green chillies 3
  • Curry leaves few
  • Asafetida 1 pinch
  • Oil 1 tps
  • Salt as per taste
  • Few Coriander Leaves, Pomegranate, Grapes for garnishing



  • Wash rice and cook in the pressure cooker with 2 cup of water,
  • add 1cup of milk &salt in the cooked rice and mash the rice with spatula.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan,add mustard seeds, when mustard seeds pops, add dals, green chilies, curry leaves & asafetida.
  • Stir for 1 min, and add rice turn over the heat.
  • Now add curd in the rice and mix thoroughly.
  • Garnish with coriander, pomegranate and grapes.
  • Serve hot with picle
