South Indian Style bottle gourdCurry




  • 1 small fresh bottle gourd
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1-2 tomato (chopped)
  • 2 tsp fresh grated coconut
  • 3 tsp rosted peanuts seeds
  • 5-6 garlic cloves
  • 2-3 green chili
  • 1/4tsp turmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds (Jeera)
  • 2 tsp oil
  • Salt as per taste



  • Peel and cut the bootle gourd into small pieces.
  • Pressure cook bottle gourd pieces with , chooped tomato, green chili,turmeric powder and salt without add any water.
  • Take 1 spoon oil in a pan and saute onion and garlic for 2 minuts and turn off the gas after cooling down, Grind onion,garlic, grated coconut and peanuts everything together.
  • Now heat oil in a pan put cumin and cook, now add the paste and saute for 3 mins.
  • Add chili powder and salt,saute it again.
  • Then add our boiled bottle gourd into the onion mixture.
  • Cook for 5 mints then turn off the flame.
  • Serve this bottle gourd curry with roti.
