Jackfruit Achari Achari Kathal



§  250 g chopped into medium sized pieces of jackfruit

§  Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp

§  3-4 chopped tomatoes

§  Yellow mustard powder 1 tablespoon

§  Red chili powder ½ tsp

§  1 tsp turmeric

§  Cumin powder ½ tsp

§  Coriander powder ½ tsp

§  Amchur 3 tsp

§  Salt to taste

§  250 grams of mustard oil


  • Marinate the Jackfruit with turmeric and salt for ½ hours.
  • Steam cook the Marinated jackfruit for about 20 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry jackfruit pieces till golden brown.
  • Now heat oil in a separate pan, add cumin seeds after that add ginger garlic paste, then tomatoes and cook till oil separate.
  • Then add jackfruit and all spices except amchur powder, cook for 15-20 minutes on low flame.
  • Now add amchur and turn off the gas.
  • Garnish with long chopped chilli and coriander leaves
  • Serve hot with Paratha and rice or dal.
