Shahi Tukda – Bread Pudding



6-8 white breads

1/2  litre full cream milk for rabdi

1/4 cup sugar for rabdi 

1/2 cup sugar for syrup 

5-6 cashew nuts (chopped)

5-6 almonds (chopped)

1/4 tsp cardamom powder

ghee for frying bread 


Method (how to make shahi tukda at home)

Take sugar in a deep vessel  Add 1/2 cup water into it and place it on flame for cooking syrup. After it simmers once and sugar dissolves completely, cook the syrup for few more minutes. Prepare sugar syrup with one thread consistency

Boil milk in a heavy bottom pan till half, stir in between. add cardamom powder and half of the dry fruits. Add sugar and mix well.

Remove the side from the bread and cut into 4 pieces. 

Heat ghee in a deep frying pan and seep fry bread till brown and crispy. soak each fried bread slice in sugar syrup for 10-15 second and take out and place on a plate. dip all bread slice and place on a plate.

Spread 1-2 tsp rabdi over each bread and sprinkle some chopped dry fruits.

Shahi tukda is ready. serve and enjoy.
