• 500 gram maida

  • 200 gram melted ghee

  • 1/2 cup Curds

  • 1/2 tsp soda bicarb

  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder

  • ghee for frying

  • 3 cups sugar

  • 1 1/2 cup water


Method (How to make balushahi at home)

  • Mix maida and soda bi carb and sieve it. Add cardamom powder.

  • Now add ghee and melted ghee and mix thoroughly.

  • Knead soft dough using water and keep aside for 30 minutes. Make small lemon size rounds balls.

  • Press to flatten a bit, and press in the center with thumb to make balushahi shape.

  • Heat ghee in wok, put some balusahai and fry on medium flame till golden brown.

  • Invert carefully and fry other side similarly.

  • Fry all balushahi as method and keep aside.

  • For sugar syrup add 1 1/2 cup water with 3 cup sugar and boil till it prepare syrup of 1 thread consistancy.  

  • Now put fries balushahi in the syrup and, allow to soak for 5 minutes.

  • Remove from the syrup and and keep on a plate to drain excess syrup.

  • Cool it completely, before transferring to air tight container.
