Whole Wheat Carrot and Walnut Loaf Cake



  • 1 cup whole wheat flour

  • ¾ cup sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder

  • 1tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • 1 ½ cup grated carrot

  • 2/3 cup oil

  • 2 eggs beaten or 1/3 cup thick yogurt

  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts + 1 tsp maida

  • ¼ cup milk


Method (How to make wheat flour carrot and walnut loaf cake)

  • Preheat the oven to 180-160 degree C.

  • Grease the loaf pan with oil and line with butter paper.

  • Sift the flour, salt, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder in a bowl and keep aside.

  • In a separate bowl mix the sugar, beaten egg or yogurt, oil and mix well add grated carrot.

  • Slowly add the flour mixture, stirring until just mixed.

  • Mix 1 tsp maida into the chopped walnuts and coat it.

  • Add walnuts into the cake mixture and mix well

  • Transfer the batter into the greased pan and tap gently to remove the airbubbles.

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until tooth pick inserted comes out clean.

  • Slice the cake and serve.
